HB0 - Liechtenstein Expedition
Located between Switzerland and Austria, next to the Alpenrhein in the Swiss Alps.
No own country currency, no armee, no customs - different. A team of 4 amateurs and two YL's went to Liechtenstein to activate the country HB0 on HF and VHF. Myself was concentrated on VHF, which is still my famoust area of activity. A small Chalet at the edge of Vaduz City was our QTH for 4 days of activity.
VK4GER - Bicycle mobile in Queensland / Australia
1990 - Australien's east coast from Brisbane to Cairns by bycicle. No mobile phone, but a license to get in contact with local radio amateurs on 2m. With me a Kennwood TH-21E, powered with an external battery, chargeable with bikes electric system.
Thanks to all of you, supporting me on this fabulouse trip - I am still remebering.
DL /p in the Bavarian Forest
Civil service in Bavaria, working in Germany's highest Youth Hostel (1330m over sea level) in JNnnXX.
HF activity with a dipol and a magnetic loop powered by an YAESU FT-757. VHF with the same system as already used in HB0, 2x 10 elements horizontal polarized and 30W output from an YAESU FT-290R plus PA.
NZ - Mobile qrv in New Zealand
Two months in a campervan, 50W output on a combined vertical for VHF/ UHF use. Not much contacts but always the security not to be alone somewhere in the green.
Great to have the CEPT agreement and with that the possibility to be On Air without administartion or paper restrictions.
